Hamilton College finished seventh out of 10 teams in the 2011 New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships, which were held at Rensselaer's Ned Harkness Track and Field on May 6 and 7.

Results

Muriel Schwinn '13 captured first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.93 seconds. Any athlete that finishes in the top three in any event earns a spot on the NYSCTC all-conference team.

Schwinn tied for seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.04 meters, and was seventh in the 200-meter dash. She recorded a time of 27.30 seconds in the preliminary heats.

Hannah Jaiven '14 finished third and picked up all-conference honors in the pole vault as she cleared 3.25 meters. The performance qualified her for the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships at Moravian College on May 19 and 20.

Molly Brooks '14 took fifth place and qualified for the ECAC championships in the hammer throw with a distance of 45.11 meters. Brooke Rayder '11 was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.98.

Sarah Ohanesian '14 finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.10. Erin West '11 ended up seventh and qualified for the ECAC meet in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:52.53.

Anna Heywood '13 was seventh in the 400-meter dash. Heywood posted a time of 1:02.91 in prelims. Rachel Cackett '13 ended up eighth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 42:05.30. Claire Hunsinger '13 finished seventh in the heptathlon at Nazareth College on May 2.

In the relays, Hamilton finished fourth in the 4x800 with a time of 9:45.89, and seventh in the 4x100 and 4x400. Ohanesian, West, Emily Heckman '13 and Catherine Malcolm '14 comprised the 3,200-meter relay.

The Continentals posted 46.50 team points. Nationally ranked No. 5 Ithaca College won the team title with 282 points.
