Muriel Schwinn ’13 set two school records for Hamilton College at the 2010 New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships held at Rochester Institute of Technology on Feb. 26 and 27.
 
Schwinn finished third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.49 seconds. Her preliminary heat time of 7.43 seconds broke the previous team record of 7.50 seconds, which she shared with Alexandra Americanos ’10. The top three finishers in each event make the all-state team.

In the long jump, Schwinn also finished third with a mark of 5.54 meters (18-feet-2¼). She broke her own school record of 5.35 meters set on Feb. 6, 2010. Her performance also made a provisional cut for the NCAA Division III championships. It is currently the 11th-best mark in Division III.
 
Liz Wahl ’10 took second place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.79 seconds. Wahl's time qualified her for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships. Wahl took sixth place in the 55 meters, recording a time of 7.71 seconds.
 
Glenn Watkins ’12 finished sixth in the 500-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 1:22.40. Emily Heckman ‘13 also earned sixth place in the 800-meter run in 2:27.62.
 
In the 800-meter relay, the team of Wahl, Schwinn, Danica Wuelfing ’10 and Alex Rimmer ’13 clocked a time of 1:50.32 to finish in fifth place. Their time qualified them for the ECAC Division III championships.
 
Hamilton finished in sixth place with 42 points. Ithaca College won the team title with 271 points. Wahl, Schwinn, Wuelfing and Rimmer will compete in the ECAC championships at Smith College on March 5 and 6.
