Hamilton College lost in four sets to visiting Colby College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match held at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Oct. 30.
 
The Mules (10-16 overall, 1-7 NESCAC) won by set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-19. Colby won its third straight match, while the Continentals lost their fourth in a row.
 
Hamilton (5-28, 0-9) was led offensively by Amanda Cohen '13, who posted 11 kills. Cohen added nine digs. Ally Martella '13 contributed a season-high 13 digs and had nine kills. Rachel Irizzary '12 was credited with 12 digs, and Alyssa Hopper '13 earned 11. Cecelie Pikus '13 passed out 29 assists and served three aces. Alex Singh '11 recorded seven kills and finished with three blocks.

Colby jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first set, but Hamilton rallied to tie the score at 15. The Mules then scored six of the next seven points and went on to win by seven. In the second set, Colby led 7-3 early and cruised to another seven-point win.

The Continentals rallied in the third set thanks in part to an attack percentage of .296. Hamilton led 13-9, but the Mules came back to tie the score at 18. The Continentals rattled off the next three points and won by five. In the fourth and final set, Colby held a slim 11-9 lead, but scored the next three points to give itself some breathing room. Hamilton never recovered and the Mules won by six points.
 
The Continentals finish out their season on Saturday, Oct. 31, when they host Bates College for another NESCAC match at 11 a.m.
