Hamilton College lost three-set matches against Tufts University and Middlebury College in New England Small College Athletic Conference action at Middlebury in Middlebury, Vt., on Oct. 17.

Hamilton (4-23 overall, 0-8 NESCAC) hosts the Continental Classic tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24. Hamilton plays Messiah College on Friday at 4 p.m. and takes on Anna Maria College at 8.

Tufts (20-2, 6-1) won by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-16. The Jumbos were just outside the Top 25 of this week's Division III coaches poll. Amanda Cohen '13 posted 10 digs, six kills and three aces. Ally Martella '13 hammered a team-high 10 kills and Alex Singh '11 added six. Cecelie Pikus '13 passed out 16 assists and served three aces. Liz Reid '11 and Kristin Stenerson '12 recorded two blocks apiece.

Middlebury (14-4, 5-2) prevailed by scores of 25-8, 25-12 and 25-16. Martella paced the Continentals with nine kills, nine digs and one ace. Cohen chipped in seven digs and four kills. Singh pounded four kills and Pikus was credited with 17 assists.
