
Amanda Cohen '13 smacked a match-high 12 kills and Hamilton College posted a four-set victory against Bates College in a NESCAC match at Bates' Alumni Gymnasium on Sept. 14.
Both teams were playing their 2012 conference opener. Hamilton stopped the Bobcats' win streak at four matches. The Continentals travel to Colby College for another NESCAC match on Saturday, Sept. 15. The start time was moved up from 2 p.m. to noon.
Hamilton (3-3 overall) dropped the first set, 25-23. But the Continentals rallied to win the next three in convincing fashion (25-20, 25-15, 25-20). Bates' record dropped to 4-2.
Brenna Corrigan '14 recorded nine kills and 14 digs, and Courtney Somerville '16 chipped in five kills and three blocks. Erin Casey '15 added five kills and three blocks.
Anna Brown '15 finished with a team-high 20 digs and a career-best eight aces. Emma Lonadier '15 ended up with 17 assists and 14 digs, and Sarah Pfund '14 passed out 16 assists and had 11 digs. Ally Martella '13 and Blaire Frett '16 helped lead the defense at the net with three blocks apiece.
