
Amanda Cohen '13 was named to the all-tournament team and Hamilton College lost its final two matches at the SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic on Sept. 19.
Cohen had seven kills and two aces in Hamilton's three-set loss (25-17, 25-11, 27-25) to tournament champion St. Lawrence University (11-1 overall). Ally Martella '13 chipped in six kills and four blocks. Jasmine Jolly '10 led the defense with nine digs and Rachel Irizarry '12 added eight. Cecelie Pikus '13 was credited with 14 assists and two aces. Alyssa Hopper '13 passed out eight assists.
St. Joseph's College-Long Island (6-6) swept the Continentals in the match that decided fifth place. The set scores were 25-20, 25-17, 25-18. Martella paced Hamilton (2-11) with seven kills and three aces. Cohen recorded nine digs, five kills and two blocks. Irizarry had eight digs while Pikus and Hopper finished with 10 and nine assists, respectively.
The Continentals host Williams College for their New England Small College Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m.
