Hamilton College fell in three sets to visiting Bates College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference match played at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Oct. 31.

The set scores were 25-20, 25-6 and 25-18. Bates (16-8 overall, 2-7 NESCAC) has won seven of its last eight matches. Hamilton (5-29, 0-10) ended its season on a five-game losing skid.

Amanda Cohen '13 paced the Continentals with six kills and two blocks. Cecelie Pikus '13 passed out 14 assists and had the team's lone ace. Alyssa Hopper '13 recorded a team-high 10 digs and Liz Reid '11 added two blocks. Alex Singh ‘11 contributed eight digs, and Ally Martella ‘13 was credited with seven digs and four kills.

The first set was close early and Bates held a slim 11-9 lead at one point. The Bobcats then ran off the next four points and went on to win the set by five. Bates posted the first six points in the second set and cruised to an easy victory. The score was tied 4-4 in the third and final set when the Bobcats scored four straight points and never trailed again.
