William Finlay, director of theatre at Union College and a world-renowned choreographer of fight scenes, will visit Hamilton on Saturday, Oct. 12,  to assist in rehearsing scenes for the upcoming Hamilton production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Hamilton Assistant Professor of Theatre Mark Cryer is directing the production, which will be a contemporary look at Shakespeare's classic love story. It will be performed in Minor Theater on Nov. 14-16 and 20-23.

Finlay has choreographed fights for film, stage and television. His work was most recently seen in a product of "Phaedra" at the American Repertory Co. in Cambridge, Mass., "King of the Moon," at the Capital Rep. Co. in Albany, and in a production of "Streetcar Named Desire" at the Huntington Theatre in Boston. He has choreographed fights for such noted directors as Liz Diamond, Adrian Hall and Andrei Serban and his work with actors includes F. Murray Abraham, Christopher Lloyd and Diane Lane. He has also trained Oscar winner Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, Brad Oscar and Michael Chiklis. Finlay is director of The Saratoga Shakespeare Co. in Saratoga Springs.
