The Andrew W. Begley Scholarship

The Andrew W. Begley Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of Andrew W. Begley, Class of 1999, by his family and friends. The scholarship is awarded to a rising junior or rising senior majoring in economics who demonstrates financial need.

Andrew W. Begley enrolled at Hamilton in 1995, and majored in economics with a minor in government. He was active in the Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Society and was a member of the golf team. After graduating summa cum laude with departmental honors in 1999, he worked for General Electric. His work for GE enabled him to travel to China, New Zealand, Australia, much of Europe and across the United States. Andrew was an outdoor enthusiast, passionate about golf, hiking, biking and skiing. He died in January 2005 in a skiing accident in Killington, Vermont.
