The Ann Miller Harden Special Scholarship

The Ann Miller Harden Special Scholarship is awarded, upon recommendation of the Art Department faculty, to studio art students demonstrating exceptional promise.

In 1993, David E. Harden, Class of 1948, a Trustee of the College, established the Ann Miller Harden Prize Scholarship in memory of his wife. Following the selection of the prize scholar(s), additional special scholarship recipients are selected based on the criteria outlined above.

David Harden married Ann Miller in New York City in 1955. In addition to being a homemaker and mother of two, Mrs. Harden was a gifted painter, with a painting studio on the Hill named in her memory.

David, who received an A.B. in economics and history from Hamilton, is a fourth generation member of the Harden Furniture Company founded in the 1800’s in McConnellsville, NY. He was first elected to the College’s Board as an Alumni Trustee in 1977, becoming a Charter Trustee in 1981 and a Life Trustee in 1995.
