The Psi Upsilon Fraternity Scholarship Fund

The Psi Upsilon Fraternity Scholarship was established in 2000 by the Hamilton College chapter of the Psi Upsilon fraternity. Preference is given to students who are members, or descendants of alumni who were members, of Psi Upsilon.

The Psi Upsilon Fraternity was founded in 1833 at Union College in Schenectady, New York. The Hamilton College chapter was formally approved in 1843. By the start of the Civil War, the fraternity became a highly recognized national organization. Today, there are 47 chapters across the United States and Canada. Alumni include U.S. Presidents Arthur and Taft. The fraternity’s former residence on the east side of campus was purchased by the College in 2004 and re-dedicated as Skenandoa House. A portion of the proceeds from that sale established this scholarship.
