The New York City Public Schools Scholarship

The New York City Public Schools Scholarship, established in 2009, is awarded with preference given to students who are graduates of New York City public high schools.

This scholarship fund was established in 2009 by Sara Weinstein, Class of 2002, with the proceeds from an on-line auction she organized on Hamilton’s behalf. Sara graduated from Hamilton with a double major in government and women’s studies. Following graduation, she worked in communications and special events in Washington, D.C., and New York City before becoming president of the Weinstein Philanthropic Group in 2010.

Sara continues to coordinate an annual auction to benefit this award. In 2010, she received a College Key Award, which recognizes individuals who have performed a service or activity that has directly benefited a specific volunteer program or the College in a tangible way. Sara was elected as an Alumni Trustee in 2012.
