The Mary and John '83 Christopher P'14 Family Scholarship

The Mary and John ’83 Christopher P’14 Family Scholarship was established by John and Mary Christopher.


John Christopher graduated with Hamilton’s Class of 1983. A native of Utica, he worked for U.S. Congressman Sherwood Boehlert before attending SUNY Buffalo Law School. He began his legal practice in 1988 and rose to partner in the Buffalo Office of Hodgson Russ, LLP, where he specializes in the areas of employment and education law. A dedicated community volunteer, John has served a number of Buffalo area charities as well as participating in various professional associations. Mr. Christopher also serves on Hamilton’s Alumni Council.

Mary Mattson, a native of Mentor, OH, married John in 1987 and worked in the health care industry as an occupational therapist. Mary and John raised three daughters, Alana, Katherine and Samantha. Mary has been a dedicated volunteer at her church and many local charities.

The Christophers’ daughter, Alana, is Class of 2014.
