The Michael W. Stankiewicz Memorial Scholarship

The Michael W. Stankiewicz Memorial Scholarship was established in the memory of Michael Stankiewicz, Class of 1981, by his family, friends, classmates, and Chi Psi fraternity brothers.

Michael W. Stankiewicz was a member of the Hamilton College Class of 1981 who died unexpectedly on March 18, 2020. He was a mathematics major and a member of the Chi Psi Fraternity. To honor Mike’s life and love for the College, his family, friends, classmates, and fraternity brothers have created a memorial scholarship to ensure that others like Mike can benefit from a Hamilton education. “Stanky,” as he was known, cherished his time at Hamilton, especially the friendships he established with the Brotherhood of Chi Psi Fraternity. He valued family above all and considered his brothers in Chi Psi to be his family. He rejoiced in retelling stories from his time on the Hill. Stanky believed firmly in the value of education and eagerly shared his own considerable learning with others. Hamilton represented everything that was most important to him, and knowing that this scholarship will enable students in the future to experience the College as he did would give him great pleasure and make him even prouder of Hamilton.

Please note: The named scholarships profiled on these pages are awarded as part of the College’s need-based financial aid packages. These funds help ensure the Hamilton Promise of keeping education affordable through meeting a student’s full demonstrated financial need.
