The Charles Van Arsdale, Jr. Scholarship

The Charles Van Arsdale, Jr. Scholarship was established in 1972  in memory of Charles Van Arsdale, Jr., Class of 1972, by his family and friends. It is awarded to students from countries other than the United States or Canada, but when there are no such eligible students, it may be awarded without reference to the country of origin.

Charles Van Arsdale, Jr., the son of Charles and Marjorie Van Arsdale, was a graduate of Letchworth Central High School. He joined the Class of 1972 and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Chuck decided to become an attorney, and his classmates described him as a young man who “in his every word and deed, expressed buoyancy, and vitality, and courage.” He succumbed to a rare form of cancer in 1971.
