The Richmond E. Thompson '25 Family Fund

The Richmond E. Thompson ’25 Family Fund was funded by three trusts  established by Richmond E. Thompson, a member of Hamilton’s Class of 1925, his wife Marion R. Thompson and their daughter Marcia T. Dawson.

Richmond Thompson came to Hamilton as a member of the Class of 1925 from Long Island. On the Hill, he joined the Theta Delta Chi fraternity and participated in a wide range of extracurricular activities including Glee Club, Choir and the Charlatans theatre troupe, and was a member of the YMCA Cabinet and the Press Board.

Following graduation, Richmond bought a small insurance agency in Valley Stream, NY, which he developed and managed for 50 years. He was active in the New York State Association of Independent Insurance Agents, as a member of the executive committee and chairing the casualty committee, and was twice named as the Association’s “Man of the Year.”
