Latin Ball

November 2, 2026

Hosted by La Vanguardia (LV) and the Black and Latine Student Union (BLSU), the Latin Ball brought students together at the Events Barn and Annex for a night inspired by magical realism, a famous literary culture of Latin America.

Inspired by the works of Márquez, Allende, and Esquivel; Latin Ball invited students to step into a world where, as the student organizers put it, spirits take shape and rivers come alive with magic. The event featured great food, a dance floor, a photo booth, temporary tattoos, and a mechanical bull, providing students with an environment to dance, spend time with friends, and try activities with a touch of magic.

A special thank you goes to LV presidents Carol and Lucas, as well as BLSU E-Board members Nat and Regina, for helping bring the event together. Thank you to everyone who attended and to all the people who helped make Latin Ball happen. We hope everyone enjoyed a little bit of magic and got inspired to delve into the charming world of magical realism!
