Marshall Scholarship

Selection is based on outstanding academic achievement (minimum gpa of A-), remarkable participation in co-curricular activities, and evidence of individual initiative and public leadership ability. “A British Marshall Scholar should possess keen intellect and a broad outlook.” Application is made through the region where the candidate resides or attends college.

Duration

Two years. A third year is granted on a limited basis for strong academic reasons.

Amount

Varies according to circumstances (university selected, place of residence, etc.) — tuition, transportation, books, living expenses are all covered.

Selection Process

Highly Competitive. Candidates are interviewed by the faculty fellowship committee for nomination. Applications and evaluations are forwarded to the British Marshall Commission. Applicants granted interviews travel to the British Consulate, Boston.
