This week, we will draw inspiration from the crowns, hats, hoods, and headbands worn by the figures in Jamea Richmond-Edwards's artworks, folding, crumpling, and curling whimsical papers to construct amazing hat sculptures. The Art Department Visiting Artist Series in collaboration with the Wellin Museum presents Jiha Moon. Jiha Moon has long been interested in the multivalent and fluid nature of cultural imagery. Her gestural paintings, mixed media works, ceramic sculptures, and installations explore shifting identities and the global movement and exchange of people, objects, and cultural symbols.
