“My father taught me to swing dance when I was about 13,” says Sarah Fobes ’12, president of the Ballroom Dancing Club, “and since then I’ve been picking up any kind of ballroom and Latin dance that I can.” Tonight she’s going formal with Hanbin “Bob” Yang ’13 as part of a “Swanky Soirée” Late Nite gathering at the Fillius Events Barn. The club’s purpose is “both social and instructional,” Fobes says, with an evolving repertoire of dance styles over the year and a changing cast of students to match: “We provide a very low-?pressure environment to come and learn at their own pace, and we teach lead-follow techniques that enable them to learn any kind of dance more easily.”
