The first sequence focuses on music from the spiritual world, particularly music associated with the nighttime service of compline. truce songs employs David Dorfman’s trademark style of merging highly athletic dancing with poignant emotion. It uses movement, text, live original music and visual design to honor truce with self, with others, and the world as dancing bodies serve as conduits for momentary peace.
