  • Sarah Kane ‘19 spent the spring semester in Bristol, England, in a behavioral biology program studying animal welfare and the laws that surround wild animals, and clinical animal behavior focusing on cats and dogs. Kane also wrote a dissertation with Dr. Nicola Rooney on the accuracy, or specificity and sensitivity of diabetic alert dogs.

  • Looking for an internship that fit his love for biology, Jesse Yu ’19, came upon an opportunity in a lab at New York University’s Center for Genomics and Systems Biology, and he snagged a position there spring semester. Later he was off to STARS, a program in California.

  • Nick Pace '19 is interning at New York Restoration Project, a land conservancy agency in NYC that oversees 80 acres of parkland and 52 community gardens in all five boroughs.

  • This summer Assistant Professor of Anthropology Colin Quinn, along with Jada Langston ’20, Sophia Coren ’21, and Lana Dorr ’21, are conducting archaeological fieldwork in Transylvania, Romania.

  • Chemical physics major Clare Munroe ’18 has joined a lab at the University of Pennsylvania researching ways of predicting the severity of breast cancer in both animals and humans. Her eventual goal is to become a small animal vet. Here she describes the path she's taking.

  • Having graduated in 2001 with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Economics, Aaron Crosman is currently a Senior Web Developer at a digital agency called Cyberwoven in South Carolina.

  • Vishwa Rasania graduated Hamilton College in 2017 with a Biochemistry major. She is currently studying at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.

  • Beatrice Blackwell graduated from Hamilton in 2017 with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Anthropology. She currently attends Columbia University where she is studying Nutritional and Metabolic Biology.

  • Andy Bradfield graduated from Hamilton College in 1998. He majored in Computer Science and minored in English and Philosophy. In 2009 he continued his education with a Masters of Computer Science from Polytechnic of NYU. Professionally since Hamilton he has spent January STEM BLOG - Andy (1)his career in the technology field working for General Electric, ITT Industries and IBM. For the last 17+ years at IBM Andy has built a proven track record of developing teams and successfully executing missions of increasing complexity and importance. In his current role, Andy is Executive Director, System Performance and Architecture for IBM Z. In this role he is responsible for end to end system performance and architecture for IBM Z leading a team of ~100 performance and architecture experts spread across Poughkeepsie, China, Germany and India. On the personal front, Andy is happily married to Maria Hillis Bradfield, Hamilton 1999. They live together in Westchester County with their daughter, Helen.

  • Jaclyn Specht graduated in 2012 with a degree in Biology. She is now a NOAA Coastal Management Fellow with the Maryland Dept of Natural Resources.
