Hockey’s Stanley Cup made an appearance at Sage Rink on Sept. 23 as part of Clinton’s Hockeyville celebration. Clinton, N.Y., winner of the Kraft Hockeyville USA contest, will host a preseason game between the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets on Sept. 25 at the Clinton area.

Women's hockey goaltender Sam Walther '18 (Gambrills, Md./The Gunnery [Conn.]) and men's hockey goaltender Evan Buitenhuis '18 (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson HS) received the 2018 Jack B. Riffle Awards at Hamilton College's senior varsity athlete awards celebration on Tuesday, May 15.

NPR’s Only a Game celebrated a 1936 Olympian and Hamilton hockey goalie on its Feb. 24 broadcast, not for his prowess on the ice, but for his courage in standing up to Hitler in a brief but prescient moment.

Hamilton College and the village of Clinton joined together on Feb. 9 through 11 to celebrate 100 years of hockey. Albert Prettyman was the Hamilton athletic director who iced over a tennis court in Clinton to introduce the first ever hockey game in our area in February 1918. The community thanked Prettyman with the weekend-long event.

Hamilton will present an honorary degree to its most celebrated hockey player, Guy Hebert '89, during the weekend marking the 100th anniversary of hockey on College Hill and in Clinton.

Members of the men’s ice hockey team – playing under the name Delta Tango and the Choir Boys – captured first place and Chipotle in the Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity – (HAVOC) Halloween Dodgeball Tournament.

Some Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members made Halloween a little happier for some children and senior citizens at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare on Oct. 29. The student-athletes donned costumes and visited the pediatric ward and Senior Care Center of St. Luke's Hospital.
