  • Six Hamilton Outing Club (HOC) members who have trained together, led trips in tandem, and have gathered innumerable times in the Glen House are ready to set off in different directions, having secured outdoor leadership positions.

  • Theresa “Terry” Martinez, a student affairs professional with more than 25 years of experience in small, medium and large school settings, has been named vice president and dean of students at Hamilton College where she will report to the president and serve as a member of the college’s senior staff.

  • FebFest, Hamilton’s annual celebration of winter, is underway with events planned each day this week.  Monday’s schedule includes a local beverage tasting in The Little Pub, a Grammy viewing party and a candlelit snowshoe walk through Root Glen.

  • Hamilton students are flocking to Sadove Terrace for the annual Campus Life Open House, taking place on Friday, Sept. 4. Representatives from student clubs and organizations s well as campus offices and student services are on hand to answer questions and recruit members. The Open House runs until 3 p.m.

  • A New York Times feature article titled “Butterflies in Your Stomach” focused on Club Ento, a campus organization whose goals are “to increase awareness of and access to edible insects and their benefits and to lower both the intellectual and physical barriers to entomophagy (the consumption of insects),” according to the club's website. The April 12 Education Life section article referenced the group’s panel on crickets, among other activities.

  • Always a highlight of FebFest, the Mr. Hamilton competition attracted a large crowd to the Annex on Feb. 10.  Mr. Co-op, Kyle Thomas Burnham ’15, was crowned Mr. Hamilton from a field of 10 contestants.  Nearly $1000 was raised at the event to benefit Alternative Spring Break.

  • In keeping with this winter’s weather pattern of snow /no snow, the 2013 FebFest theme is “Meltdown.” The annual winter tradition will take place Feb. 9-16 with events that include CAB Acoustic Coffeehouse featuring Josh Ritter, CAB Comedy with Michael Ian Black, the 20th annual Chili Cookoff, and the Mr. Hamilton contest.   • Hamilton students took a break from preparing for final exams as they enjoyed an all-campus study break on Dec. 18 at the Sadove Student Center.  Student Activities sponsored the event that included snowflake making, free hot cocoa, coloring, chair massages and movies. Attendees also stopped to make cards and write messages for the families affected by the tragedy in Sandy Hook, Conn.

  • The 11th annual Fall Fest held on the Clinton Village Green on Oct. 21 provided an afternoon of entertainment, activities and food for the Hamilton community and Clinton residents. Sponsored by Hamilton's Student Assembly, the event featured face-painting, a soccer clinic and entertainment by a capella groups.

  • The 11th Annual Hamilton College Fall Fest will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the Clinton Village Green. Fall Fest is an initiative that was started in 2002 by the Hamilton Class of 2005 to reach out and join with the local community for an afternoon of food, fun activities and entertainment.
