Hamilton College's Eva Rosencrans '17 (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich Academy) has been selected for the 2015 Division III All-America Team by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Although Kwanzaa is still a few weeks away, Hamilton’s Black and Latino Student Union (BLSU) invited 50 guests, including students and faculty, to celebrate the spirit of Kwanzaa and each other as the academic semester comes to a close. The celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture, and is observed from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a feast and gift-giving.

The annual Men's Hockey Date auction on Dec. 2, sponsored by Student Assembly’s Social Traditions committee, was a huge success, raising $708 for the Kelberman Center.  The Center, founded by cardiologist Dr. Michael Kelberman ’80, is a regional center for excellence for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  The organization provides services to more than 1000 children and adults throughout Central New York and employs more than 175 full and part-time staff.

During a time of intense discussions about race relations and a range of other issues on college and university campuses across the nation, similar conversations and demonstrations are occurring on the Hamilton campus.

Alex Mitko ’16 (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton HS) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division III Football Team. Mitko is the first Continental football player to ever earn academic all-America honors.

Dozens of Psi Upsilon alumni returned to campus on Friday, Nov. 13, to spend that night and all day Saturday working with 30-40 current Hamilton undergraduate members to help prepare them in their pursuit of internships and full time jobs. Indicative of the five-year-old program’s success, 40 out of 44 undergraduate members had jobs or internships before commencement last year. Eight of this year's 11 seniors have already secured jobs after graduation.

Author and former TIME journalist Barrett Seaman ’67 returned to Hamilton on Nov. 9 to discuss the role of journalism in modern society and the tendency of people today to cluster with other like-minded individuals. With the rise of accessible technology, this clustering has the consequence of making moderate and unbiased news a less valuable commodity. Seaman was the third guest in the SpecSpeak  journalism series.

Hamilton College's Brett Hull (left, in picture) has been selected the 2015 NESCAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year based on his team's performance at the conference championship meet on Oct. 31.

“Speech” was the word at the Oral Communication Center’s second “Hamilton Speaks: Improve Your Public Speaking in 6 Minutes or Less,” a lunch-hour event on Oct. 28 in the Tolles Pavilion.

The Hamilton College football team rallied three times, taking the lead for good in the fourth quarter to beat host Williams 20-17 Saturday in Williamstown, Mass.
