  • Hundreds of Hamilton students joined their counterparts around the world to participate in the Global Climate Strike on Sept. 20. Organized by representatives from a number of student groups, Hamilton’s climate strike attracted droves of students and Hamilton community members calling for action on environmental issues.

  • “Infusing validation, normalizing experience, embracing struggle and failure, and promoting self-advocacy and well-being.” These are the words Travis Hill sees on his whiteboard when he walks into his office every morning. As Associate Dean of Students for Student Engagement, Hill has sought to make these words more than just pretty letters on his wall, but instead, a call to action, especially for his new podcast series: Life on the Hill.

  • While the weekend of September 7 may have been an ordinary one for most people, it was anything but for the Marathon Canoe Racing Team. The team of 19 paddlers, led by captains Gus Huiskamp ‘21 and Roger Danilek ‘21, competed in the Adirondack Canoe Classic alongside Director of Outdoor Leadership Andrew Jillings. The race customarily begins in Old Forge on the Friday after Labor Day and snakes its way through a series of lakes and rivers supplemented by portages over the course of three days before ending in Saranac Lake.

  • Hamilton students volunteered at more than 20 non-profit agencies in Oneida County for Make A Difference Day. The students provided a variety of services ranging from cleaning the Utica Children’s Museum, polishing the kitchen at Hope House, weeding the garden at Clinton Elementary School, and leading activities at Lutheran Care Nursing Home.

  • Tina Fey, the executive producer, head writer, and star of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning comedy 30 Rock, will be the next guest in Hamilton College’s Sacerdote Great Names series, on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m., in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets will be required.

  • WHCL is a 24-hour, non-profit, student-run, free-form radio station. Established in 1941 and located on the Hamilton campus, WHCL provides the Hamilton community with the opportunity to get their voices and music heard. WHCL typically features over 90 shows during the school year and occasionally broadcasts in the summer.

  • When Kory Fogarty ’19 began planning Relay for Remission with his friends back in the fall of 2018, he knew that the event’s one goal was to bring the Hamilton community together behind a cause important to him – a cure for cancer.

  • Hamilton’s Model UN team has attended three conferences this semester and has won awards at each. The team went to North American Model United Nations Conference hosted by University of Toronto (NAMUN), Princeton Diplomatic Invitational hosted by Princeton University (PDI), and &MUN hosted by The College of William and Mary.
