This September 2018 marks Google’s 20th anniversary. Chris LaRosa ’03, now a senior product manager at Google, joined the company as an intern on the technical writing team in 2007. To make the company’s milestone birthday, we asked him to share a little about his path to Google and his work at the company.

Shelley P. Haley, the Edward North Chair of Classics and professor of classics and Africana studies, published a chapter in the newly released volume, Pushing the Margins: Women of Color and Intersectionality in LIS.

On Sept. 21 to 23 Hamilton students flooded the Adirondack Park, hungry for the High Peaks. The Outing Club sent out 20 trips to conquer the 46 peaks above 4,000 feet in the Park as marked by the original surveying. The tradition started in 1995 and every year since, Hamilton students have been attempting this feat. This year the club managed to get a student on 40 of the 46 Peaks.

Oxford University Press has published Perpetua Athlete of God by Edward North Professor of Classics Emerita Barbara K. Gold. This major new investigation of an important early Christian martyr confronts contemporary questions of gender, religion, and martyrdom, according to the publisher.

Jeff Larson, resident designer and production manager for Theatre, took a group of Theatre students to the Stanley Theater in Utica last week, where they were given an in-depth backstage tour by Tony winning sound designer Scott Lehrer of the upcoming national touring production of “Hello Dolly.”

“Don’t ever let anyone place limitations on your life,” said Martine Kalaw ’03 as she opened her discussion, Kindness: Community Through Inclusion, on Sept. 20.

Poet Linwood Rumney ’04, the author of Abandoned Earth, returned to Hamilton on Sept. 20 to read from his work.
