Fun moves fast at Hamilton. Less than two days after arriving on campus, the Class of 2028 embarked on 56 orientation trips, guided by more than 100 student leaders.

Greeted by a raucous and flamboyantly dressed group of Orientation Leaders waving witty signs and shouting words of welcome, nearly 460 new Hamilton students and their families arrived on College Hill on Aug. 20 to move in and begin Orientation.

We asked a few members of the Class of 2024 to tell us about their senior projects and share their biggest takeaways.

From the excitement of first days to the bittersweetness of last ones and everything in between, the past year was packed with unforgettable moments. Take a look back at the 2023-24 academic year at Hamilton.

Quinn Brown ’24 carved a distinct path for himself at Hamilton — from outdoor leadership positions to a deep dedication to his educational experiences. His contributions to campus did not go unnoticed. The faculty selected him as winner of this year’s James Soper Merrill Prize, awarded to the senior “who, in character and influence, has typified the highest ideals of the College.”

Bronx native Rogelio Ramirez Pacheco ’27 gives new meaning to “walking a mile in his shoes” with the release of the Air Jordan I Mid Subway — a special Nike shoe designed by the Hamilton College first-year and a fellow New York student.

The 2023-24 academic year wrapped up with the awarding of national fellowships and scholarships, conference presentations, and a Phi Beta Kappa election of 22 seniors.

With 10 teams in, action, the spring sports semester was a busy one, capped off with honors for senior athletes.
