  • An evening at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall offered a refreshing change of pace for the 14 busy students taking part in this semester’s New York City program directed by Professor Naomi Guttman. Thanks to a generous donation from Karen and Kevin Kennedy '70, the group attended a New York Philharmonic symphony concert on March 1.

  • Hamilton College will name its theatre and studio arts building for Kevin and Karen Kennedy in recognition of their lifetime giving to the college, including $10 million for the new project. They are the lead donors to the $46.8 million building that is located directly across College Hill Road from the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art, which opened in 2012.

  • After their original plans to visit the studios of professional artists fell through in October due to damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, nine senior art concentrators and art faculty were able to reschedule the always-anticipated trip and visit New York City on Jan. 24-27.

  • The evening of Sept. 19 was a fine one for students on the Program in New York.  The group was treated to dinner at Gabriel’s, followed by a performance at the New York Philharmonic, all sponsored by alumnus Kevin Kennedy ’7o and his wife Karen.

  • Museums offer the public an immense wealth of shared cultural artifacts in the form of various art mediums, and their employees help ensure that they remain a valued resource for treasured works. Eleanor Gartner ’12 is spending the summer as an intern for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, conducting research on the life and work of former New Yorker magazine art critic Calvin Tomkins. Her research is supported by the Kevin Kennedy Class of '70 Internship Fund for the Arts through the Career Center.

  • Personal and heated, debates over the American healthcare system have been raging all over the country, making healthcare one of the US’s most pressing domestic issues. Hamilton alumni from the class of 1970 addressed this issue in an Alumni College during this year’s reunion.
