When Josie Collier ‘97, P’14 saw an image of Hamilton College on the wall of her guidance counselor at the Bronx High School of Science, she thought, ‘Hey, cool print.’

Liz Menges ’84 met her husband at Hamilton. Two of her sons also went there, and she’s never let herself fall out of touch with Hamilton—it’s a family affair, after all. But despite the many times she’s previously returned, she’s really looking forward to this next reunion.

When Gordon Kaye ’74 comes to campus for a reunion, he first walks or drives to the old quad, where the Chapel faces. “It just sort of centers me,” says Kaye, who met his wife at Hamilton, and whose daughter went here too. “It gives me a sense of where I am.”

When Kimberly Keogh graduated from Hamilton in 1990 with a psycho-biology major, she didn’t know much about autism. She had moved back home to Massachusetts and was looking for work when she responded to an advertisement for the New England Center for Children (NECC). Keogh has worked there ever since.

Megan Hauck ’04 is gearing up for her 15-year reunion, and she can’t wait. Hamilton was the only school she applied to. “I went on a college tour and I kind of fell in love.” Hauck is currently the president of the class of 2004 and co-chair of the class leadership committee, as well as sits on the executive council of the alumni association.

Last year was the 25th reunion year for Dave Richeson, a professor of mathematics at Dickinson College. “I’ve been to almost all of the fives,” he says—just like a mathematician would put it—though he admits there may have been one he missed.

Perfect weather, multiple well-orchestrated events, and many opportunities to re-connect with old friends combined to provide a memorable Reunion Weekend.

More than 1,200 alumni and guests will return to the Hill for Reunions 2018, June 7-10. There’s still time to register for the weekend that promises a full slate of activities and many opportunities to reconnect with classmates and friends. A special welcome goes to the members of the class of 1968, celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Reunion celebrant Sarah Hiner wrote about some of the more meaningful, quite extraordinary, yet non-traditional accomplishments of her fellow alumni.

The Hamilton College community bid farewell to the independence of the comparative literature department as it transforms into the literature and creative writing department: a fusion of comparative literature, English and creative writing. To commemorate comparative literature’s 40-year legacy of literature and social activism, five accomplished alumni related to the department spoke about what this academic discipline has meant for their lives and their activism, revealing that its rippling effects have in fact changed countless lives.
