When his mother was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2010, Cevdet Samikoglu ’92 and his family moved to Turkey to be with her, at which point he pronounced himself retired from his successful Wall Street career. From there, he found a mission.

Janice Kang '20 knew she wanted to pursue graduate school ever since coming to Hamilton, and four years of chemistry classes and a number of research opportunities — including one that led her to co-authoring a paper — only confirmed that desire. After graduation, she will begin work toward her Ph.D. in chemistry at Northwestern University.

Emma Belanger ’20 knew that she wanted to explore pursue her interests in Chinese and Russian language and culture after graduation, but wasn't sure how. Then, while studying abroad, she learned of Harbin, a town in China on the border of Russia.

More than 75 members of the Hamilton community gathered via Zoom on April 29 to hear alumni experts discuss the challenges and realities of governing amidst a pandemic. History major Olivia Maddox ’20 is excited to begin work as an educational consultant at Apolish, a New York City branch of the Chinese consulting firm Thinktown.
