Eseosa Asiruwa ’18 graduated from Hamilton into a job as a software engineer at Adobe, and now she reaches back to help students break into her field.

The Hamilton College Town-Gown Fund honored one of its original committee members by making a $5,000 grant to the Country Pantry in his memory.

Last fall, the College-Community Partnership for Racial Justice assembled a series of eight webinars focused on racial equity and police reform, sponsored by the Levitt Center Law and Justice Lab. Since then, the Partnership has collected and organized data from multiple surveys aimed at gauging public opinion on these issues. The results of these surveys were discussed in a virtual town hall on Feb. 11.

Associate Professor of Government Gbemende Johnson has received a $242, 810 grant from the National Science Foundation to examine what happens when a Freedom of Information request ends up in court.

A math major with an environmental studies minor, Rachel Pike ’21 saw data science as a natural combination of her interests, and a new course gave her a chance to confirm that. She enrolled in ENVST 206 Environmental Data Science.

A soft glow filled campus on Feb. 3 as the Hamilton community honored the Black Lives Matter movement through a virtual vigil. The event, which kicked off Black History Month, featured ice and paper bag luminarias that were lighted and placed outside the Days-Massolo Center, the Chapel, and Sadove Student Center.

Due to the extended break between the fall and spring semesters, Hamilton’s Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center offered students the opportunity to spend the time conducting research. Some 39 students and 13 faculty-led groups – with an additional 40 students doing research as part of team  –  collaborated on a variety of projects that ranged from the philosophical endeavor of community-based teaching to militarized policing and political stability.
