Welcome to the Class of 2027!
After unpacking and meeting roommates, members of the Class of 2027 headed to a welcome reception with President David Wippman, deans, and faculty members. Then the fun began with opening ceremonies on Steuben Field, where new students met up with their adventure trip leaders and groups to play rowdy games and enjoy bonding activities. Starting the next day, the newest Hamiltonians set out on one of the 56 adventure trips aimed at connecting them with their classmates and introducing them to the area.
Students chose from among the five-day trips offered based on their interests: Adirondack Adventure (AA) trips included hiking, canoeing, or kayaking in the Adirondacks; Exploration Adventure (XA) trips ranged from community farming to exploring the local arts scene; and Outreach Adventure (OA) engaged students with community service at local nonprofit agencies. The students stayed off-campus for four nights and benefited from the chance to get to know their new classmates in small-group settings.
Upon returning to campus, students started easing into campus life with residence hall mixers, meetings with advisors, and an introduction to the Honor Code and wellness offerings. On Tuesday and Wednesday they took part in a longstanding Hamilton tradition, visiting Kirkland Cottage to sign the College Register.

On Jan. 14, 45 new members of the Class of 2026 officially joined the Hamily. Orientation leaders provided a warm welcome to the January admits as they checked in, moved into their residence hall homes, and got right to it with orientation group meetings.

Imaginatively costumed Orientation Leaders shouting boisterous cheers, honking car horns, and very creative signs welcomed members of Hamilton’s newest students to the Hill on Aug. 16.
