Claire Mouflard
Associate Professor of French and Francophone Studies Claire Mouflard presented on how to introduce lesser-known Francophone authors in the curriculum at the South Atlantic Modern Language Association conference on Nov. 7 in Atlanta.

Her paper titled “Transnational Memories: Teaching Nathacha Appanah’s La mémoire délavée,” discussed how the parallel study of archival documents from the Beinecke Lesser Antilles Collection and from Appanah’s own research on Mauritius in La mémoire délavée can give students a more global perspective on the ramifications of French colonialism.

Mouflard was the recipient of a Special Collections Faculty Fellowship at Hamilton in 2024.
