Nearly 50 Hamilton students met their match on Jan. 22 when they participated in the Career Center’s Communicate 301: Interview Crash Course.
The event, formerly known as Interview Mojo, pairs a student with an alumnus/a, member of the business community or Hamilton staff member for a one-on-one mock job interview. This was the seventh year for the event.
Hamilton’s Career Center will help you explore career options, obtain career-related experiences and secure your first job or acceptance into graduate school. We’ll also connect you to our extensive alumni network and teach you the skills to manage your career after leaving College Hill.
Career Center Director Sam Welch ’86 likened Communicate 301 to “speed dating” and said it is aimed at helping students learn core interviewing skills for the first job after college.
Students are given common questions typically asked in job interviews, then the interviewer provides feedback on their answers.
Hady Hewidy ’17 found the afternoon valuable, noting “It’s comforting to start the interviewing process in the spring of senior year with a coaching environment like this.”
