Sarah Fobes’12 presented a poster at the International Conference on Luminescence, held in Ann Arbor, Mich., June 26- July 1. Her poster was titled “Post-annealing immersion study of sol-gel silicate glasses containing rare earth dopants.”
The work was based largely on research that Fobes performed during the summers of 2010 and 2011 in the Physics department, and was co-authored by Ann Silversmith, Zane Glauber (also ’12), Dan Boye of Davidson College and Kurt Hoffman of Whitman College. Fobes earned a poster prize for her presentation.
