A veteran actor, Goldwyn is perhaps best known for his role as President Fitzgerald Grant III on the ABC drama Scandal (2012-18). He also directed a number of episodes for the series for which he won a Peabody Award. On the big screen, he has appeared in such films as Ghost, Nixon, The Last Samurai, Divergent, and Oppenheimer, and voiced the main character in the Disney animated classic Tarzan.
On his long résume of TV roles, he portrayed Neil Armstrong in the HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon. Goldwyn had a recurring part on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2007-08) as well as acting and directing duties for the first season of Dexter for Showtime.
