Visiting Assistant Professor of History

The History Department of Hamilton College invites applications for a two-year visiting position, at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor, in African American history, to begin July 1, 2014.  The position may be renewable for an additional two years.  Period and region of specialization are open.  An ability to teach a two-semester African-American history survey is required.   Ph.D. or ABD required.  Teaching materials should include sample syllabi for the survey and one advanced seminar.  Your cover letter should address ways in which issues of diversity are brought into your teaching, scholarship, and/or service.   Experience teaching or working with diverse student populations is an asset.  Review of applications will begin February 17, 2014, and continue until the position is filled.  Send letter of application, teaching materials, and CV, and arrange for submission of official transcript and three recommendation letters, to Interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/24162.  Address materials and questions to Professor Douglas Ambrose, History Department.
