While most of us have a common-sense understanding of what germs are and how they work, the way we narrate their existence -- what they are, what they aren’t, and how we try to keep them at bay -- may reveal more about us than about them. This interactive session opens up the everyday language, fears, and habits surrounding germs to anthropological inquiry. Come be part of this two-part ethnographic lunch series led by Julie Starr, Associate Professor of Anthropology where we will explore how ideas about germs shape our social lives, moral judgments, and even our sense of cleanliness and community.Lunch will be provided
