  • Twenty Hamilton students returned to campus on Jan. 13 to participate in the second Levitt Leadership Institute (LLI) which continues through Jan. 18.  The program was designed and is led by Ambassador Prudence Bushnell with the assistance of Christine Powers and is intended to provide strong leadership training for students.  The LLI was made possible by the generous financial support of Arthur Levitt, Jr. P'81, and the Norman and Rosita Winston Foundation.

  • When Prudence Bushnell, a former U.S. ambassador and CEO of Sage Associates was growing up, there were no female leaders for her to look up to. Those women who did assume a leadership position were often ridiculed or not taken seriously. Despite this lack of role models, Bushnell became a leader for hundreds of Foreign Service workers, and she has served as the dean of the Leadership and Management School at the Foreign Service Institute.

  • Participants in the first Levitt Leadership Institute cohort headed to Washington, D.C. for the  second phase of the program during spring break. Led by Prudence Bushnell, former U.S. Ambassador to Kenya and Guatemala, the group continued their focus on the study of leadership, a program that was enhanced by daily meetings with Washington leaders. Funding for the entire program was provided by Arthur Levitt Jr.

  • Eighteen students returned a week early to campus over winter break to take part in week one of a two-week pilot leadership program through the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center.  The program, called the Levitt Leadership Institute (LLI), was designed and led by Ambassador Prudence Bushnell with the assistance of Christine Powers and was intended to provide strong leadership training for students interested in working in public service. This program was made possible by a very generous gift from Arthur Levitt Jr.

  • With generous funding from Arthur Levitt, Jr., the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center has developed a new opportunity for rising sophomores and juniors.  The Levitt Leadership Institute, to be launched in early 2012, will offer two weeks of practical training in competencies that make people effective at all levels of an organization and that are essential to anyone seeking to manage or lead others.  Applications for the institute will be available on Thursday, Sept. 1, on the institute site.
