Student Assembly (SA) President Amanda Kim ’21 and Vice President Jiin Jeong ’21 led the program that focused on two topics selected by students: mental health and sustainability.

Through the Hamilton Alternative Break program, a group of students traveled to Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne, N.Y., over fall break to volunteer at Double H’s Comfort Camp Weekend. Double H Ranch is a SeriousFun network camp that offers year-round programs for children and the families of children with serious or chronic illnesses.

The Shenandoah-Kirkland Initiative hosted the second annual Haudenosaunee Social in the Events Barn on Oct. 12. Approximately 100 students, faculty, staff, and community members attended the hour-long celebration of the day and acknowledgment of the land on Oct. 14.

The sisters of PBX engaged in some on-campus philanthropy recently when they helped Director of Outdoor Leadership Andrew Jillings repair a bridge in Rogers Glen that had been swept away by a storm.

Hamilton’s men’s and women’s golf teams volunteered with Rise Against Hunger on Sept. 28 at the Clinton United Methodist Church.

Tori Stapleton ’19 is convinced that the role models we encounter in elementary and middle school help determine who we become later in life. As founder of Girlz2Women and Boyz2Men, known collectively as EmPower Moves, she has mobilized Hamilton students to engage with local children through games, activities, and conversation designed to build confidence and confront gender norms.

In 2018 HamVotes, a nonpartisan team of both administrators and student ambassadors, ramped up its presence on campus, organizing events to promote voter registration and increase voter turnout.

Hundreds of Hamilton students joined their counterparts around the world to participate in the Global Climate Strike on Sept. 20. Organized by representatives from a number of student groups, Hamilton’s climate strike attracted droves of students and Hamilton community members calling for action on environmental issues.

“Infusing validation, normalizing experience, embracing struggle and failure, and promoting self-advocacy and well-being.” These are the words Travis Hill sees on his whiteboard when he walks into his office every morning. As Associate Dean of Students for Student Engagement, Hill has sought to make these words more than just pretty letters on his wall, but instead, a call to action, especially for his new podcast series: Life on the Hill.
