  • In concert with the National Park Service's call to ring “Bells across the Land: A Nation Remembers Appomattox,” the College's Chapel bell will ring for four minutes at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, to mark the four years of war that ended 150 years ago at Appomattox.  One hour later, at 4:15 p.m., a short memorial program will commemorate the role Hamilton students and alumni played in the Civil War, as well as  in the abolitionist movement that preceded the war. This program is free and open to the public.

  • The Muslim Students Association (MSA) and the College chaplaincy recently unveiled Hamilton College’s new Muslim prayer room. Located on the second floor of the Chapel, the prayer room is the first space on campus that MSA has been able to call its own.

  • Hamilton College will observe the 10th anniversary of the September 11  terrorist attacks that took close to 3,000 American lives, with events on Sunday, Sept. 11.  The College will honor the memory of Arthur J. Jones III,’84, Adam J. Lewis ’87, and Sylvia San Pio Resta ’ 95 – Hamilton alumni who tragically lost their lives in the attacks on America.
