  • Five Hamilton students and Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Chair of International Affairs and Professor of Government, participated in the 32nd Model EU at the Institute for European Studies of the Free University of Brussels from January 4 to 7.

  • The Hamilton Model EU team brought 10 students to the 29th annual Euro-Sim event, held at Antwerp University in Belgium  from Jan. 3-7. Hamilton student participants were Dumitru (Dima) Kaigorodov ’16,  Annie Berman ’18, Daniel Berrick ’18,  Victoria Bulivant ’18, Kevin Roback ’17, Hallie Skripak Gordon ’16, Charlotte Carstens ’16, Nicolas Yardas ’18, Hristina (Tina) Mangelova ’16 and Alex Hollister ’17.  The students were accompanied by their advisor Visiting Assistant Professor of Government Ivan Rasmussen.

  • Ten Hamilton students along with faculty advisor Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs Alan Cafruny traveled to Skidmore College to participate in the three-day Model European Union conference on March 26.

  • This winter break was an exciting one for Hamilton's Model European Union (EU) team.  After a semester of rigorous debate and training, 11 students were selected to travel to the University of Twente in Enschede, Netherlands, to participate in the 25th annual EuroSim conference. They were accompanied by faculty advisor Visiting Assistant Professor of Government Calin Trenkov-Wermuth ’00.

  • Over winter break 15 students from Hamilton’s Model European Union club — as well as faculty advisor Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs — attended the 25th annual EuroSim conference in Wroclaw, Poland, from Jan. 5-8.  Each year, the EuroSim conference presents a different topic relating to European policy; the topic of this year’s conference was European asylum policy and the development of a common European asylum system.

  • Eleven students from Hamilton’s Model European Union team and faculty advisor Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs, attended the 23rd annual EuroSim conference in Antwerp, Belgium, on Jan. 5-10. The topic of this year’s conference was Russia-EU relations and Hamilton students took on a variety of roles, including members of the delegation from the Czech Republic, the Justice Minister of Ireland, and several members of Parliament.
