As Fiona Murphy ’23 creates her comics, she pulls her mental state into the physical world. Each blurred line or harsh impression is purposeful, constructed to evoke a certain psychological experience: gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia, or sleep deprivation.

To his surprise, William Salzillo, Kevin W. Kennedy Professor of Art and department chair, realized fairly early on that the move to online courses has forever changed how he teaches, which he’s done on the Hill since he began at Kirkland College in 1973.

The work of Atelier Four, a group of four printmakers with ties to Hamilton, is on display through July 24 at View Arts Center in Old Forge, N.Y.

Prints by Amy Buchholz ’80 and Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo are on display in the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) centennial exhibition at The Art Students League of New York.

“Moonstruck” by Professor of Art William Salzillo will be featured in an exhibition at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice. The print was one of 30 selected for the Los Angeles Printmaking Society International Exchange Exhibition that runs from July 28 through August 15.

Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo are participating in Layers of Identity II, a special international exchange exhibition that originated in Los Angeles in August and is currently on display in Jerusalem.

Prints by Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo were awarded prizes at the 34th Annual National Print Exhibition at Artlink & Traveling Exhibit. The exhibition is on display through May 18 at Artlink, an art and cultural center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

A collection of intaglio prints by Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo, along with Amy Buchholz ’80 and Jake Muirhead ’86 – the Atelier Four – will be on display April 4-29 at The Ink Shop Printmaking Center in Ithaca, N.Y.

“The Nightingale,” an intaglio print by Professor of Art William Salzillo, was selected for the 21st National Exhibition sponsored by the Los Angeles Printmaking Society (LAPS). The show runs Oct. 26 through Dec. 14 at the California State University Northridge Art Galleries. An opening reception will be held on Oct. 26 from 5–9 p.m.

“The Iroquois Palisades,” a painting by Professor of Art William Salzillo, is included in the Maryland Federation of Art exhibition “American Landscapes: Scenes from the Americas.”
