Dean of Faculty Patrick D. Reynolds announced the appointment of four of Hamilton’s most outstanding teacher-scholars to endowed chairs. Professor of Philosophy A. Todd Franklin, Professor of Biology Jinnie M. Garrett, Professor of  Environmental Studies Todd W. Rayne and Professor of History Thomas A. Wilson were appointed, effective July 1.

Professor of Biology Jinnie Garrett gave two talks as part of the International Women's Day celebration on March 11, organized by the Department of International Business, University of Dhaka in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Professor of Biology Jinnie Garrett presented a workshop titled "Critical Consumption of Scientific Developments at the Local Level: How does community decide whether a particular scientific product is beneficial?” at the Grassroots Women's Political Leadership Forum held Sept. 9-19 at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Professor of Biology Jinnie Garrett presented a poster, “High Resolution Characterization of Bacterial Diversity and Geochemistry in a Meromictic Lake (Green Lake, Fayetteville, NY)” on her research done in collaboration with Associate Professor of Biology Michael McCormick, at a meeting sponsored by the Department of Energy, March 20-24, at the Joint Genome Institute in Walnut Creek, Calif.
