Hamilton's Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center has released a comprehensive report titled “Youth Gun Violence in Utica, New York: Causes, Context, and Prevention.” This report is the culmination of the Center’s Fall 2024 Justice Lab, an interdisciplinary initiative involving 16 students across four integrated courses led by four Hamilton faculty members.

Marianne Janack, the John Stewart Kennedy Professor of Philosophy, and the students and volunteers she works with, have published the newest issue of Book XI: a Journal of Literary Philosophy.

The 13th issue of Book XI: a Journal of Literary Philosophy with the theme "Books, Reading, and Being Read," was recently published. It includes an essay by Visiting Assistant Professor of Government Joel Winkelman as well as other essays, stories, and poems about the theme.

The 11th issue of Book XI: A Journal of Literary Philosophy, with the theme "superstitions" has been published.

The editorial staff of Book XI, led by Marianne Janack, the John Stewart Kennedy Professor of Philosophy, has just published the latest issue of the journal.

“The home” cannot be defined by one thing. As a place of significance to billions of people, it takes on different meanings in different contexts, transforming walls and floors into a dimensional concept that is ripe for philosophical study.

Last year Riley Nichols ’21 developed a program titled “Philosophy with Children” with 12 other students under the direction of John Stewart Kennedy Chair of Philosophy Marianne Janack. The group developed and delivered virtual weekly lessons exploring age-appropriate topics in philosophy with groups of Clinton elementary and middle school students. Some of the lesson plans developed by the Hamilton students have been selected and published by PLATO (Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization).
