  • Recent Hamilton graduate Mike Zesk '08 has spent the last several months in northern Mongolia as a teacher, director, explorer and game show host.  A religious studies major at Hamilton, Zesk was also a long-time member of the Men's Rugby team and a former captain.

  • Hamilton College's annual Couper Phi Beta Kappa Lecture series presented Bryan Alexander, director of research for the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE) on Thursday, Jan. 29. Responding to the July/August Atlantic magazine article "Is Google Making Us Stupid" by Nicholas Carr, Alexander divulged the article's many weaknesses to a full Kennedy Auditorium in the Science Center. 

  • Assistant Professor of Art Rebecca Murtaugh has two artworks published in Stone Canoe III: A Journal of Arts and Ideas. She is also exhibiting the work "Seeing Stars" in the exhibition at Delavan Art Gallery in Syracuse that accompanies the publication. The exhibition is free and open the public until February 28.

  • Jennifer Morris K'72, the founder of LocalWatt and an experienced entrepreneur and organization leader, willl be recognized with a Hamilton Ventures Leadership Award at the United Nations on February 7. The award ceremony will take place during the first  Venture Symposium and Conference.

  • Rice Memorial High School in south Burlington, Vermont, has named Hamilton graduate Damian DiGiulian '93 as head coach of their newly expanded hockey program. DiGiulian graduated Hamilton with a BA in History and was a member of the Men's Hockey Team.

  • Barbara Stein, K'72, received a Frank Withrow Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET) at NCTET's 2009 Bytes & Books Inaugural Ball on January 20, 2009 at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.  The award was in honor of Barbara's exemplary effort in advancing education and technology for almost 30 years.

  • Professor of Religious Studies Jay Williams '54 will present an Alumni College during Reunions '09 on Thomas Nast, one of America's great political cartoonist.  Nast is credited with the creation of the Republican Elephant and the iconic Uncle Sam.

American Public Media's Marketplace reporter Jeremy Hobson also interviewed Owen for a segment, "Fed digs into toolbox for more solutions," that aired on Jan. 28.
