Study Buddies is an on-campus mentoring program that in recent months has taken initiatives to expand its mission. Co-directors Pat Hodgens '09 and Ben Dropkin '11 coordinate the partnership between HAVOC and For the Good Inc., a Utica non-profit run by Kirkland alumna Cassandra Harris-Lockwood '74.

Hamilton theatre students will perform In The Watchfires, an original performance piece, as part of a Senior Day for the Utica Public Housing Authority Resource Center this week. It was created by Christian Baxter '10, Chelsea D'Aprile '09, Nick Fesette '09, Romina Memoli Amador '09, and Susan Stanton '09, and directed by Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Dustin Helmer '99. Visiting Associate Professor of Religious Studies S. Brent Rodriguez Plate made a multimedia presentation at the Museum of Biblical Art in Manhattan on May 7. The presentation, titled "The Altar and the Screen," was part of the Museum's exhibit, "Reel Religion: A Century of the Bible and Film." The exhibit has received positive reviews in The Los Angeles Times, Time Out New York, Christianity Today, The Jewish Daily, among others.

Sherman Professor of Government, discussed Michael Steele's performance during his first 100 days as Republican National Committee Chairman in a Baltimore Sun article titled "For GOP's Steele, A Time To Fly Or Fall." "In fairness to Steele, I can't imagine a worse time to be chairman of the RNC. But he's only made the situation worse for himself," said Klinkner.
