Office of Experiential Learning
The Office of Experiential Learning serves as the central hub for fostering awareness, implementing experiential opportunities, assessing outcomes, and offering innovative options for all students and faculty.
The Office of Experiential Learning oversees and provides:
- Field trip, conference, and other academic or co-curricular travel support
- Logistics, risk management, and accommodations support for experiential learning activities and courses
- Domestic off-campus study programs (Hamilton in New York City, Hamilton in Washington D.C., and New England Center for Children program in Boston, and pre-approved domestic programs)
- Select summer research funding opportunities (Emerson Summer Research, Kirkland Summer Associates, Sciences, Levitt Summer Research Fellowship, Levitt Research Group Grants, HSCPiP, and NY6 Summer Research Fellowship)
- Experiential learning professional development for faculty, focused on pedagogy, curriculum, etc.
Engaged Scholars Program
The Engaged Scholars Program encourages students to complete four (4) substantial experiential learning activities throughout their time at Hamilton. These activities (link below) are highlighted in an e-portfolio that archives their reflective narratives, photo journals, vlogs, or blogs. Students also have the opportunity to share their experiences at a spring semester conference, in a new magazine, or via a story-sharing Podcast.
