FAQs
The Accommodated Testing Services provides a distraction-reduced testing environment for students with testing accommodations approved by Accessibility Resources.
No. Accommodations, including those related to assessments, remove a barrier and ensure equal access for students with disabilities.
Yes. Testing rooms are monitored by trained proctors and cameras to ensure fair testing conditions. All students using the Testing Center are bound by the Hamilton College Honor Code. All students are monitored for academic integrity and any testing irregularities will be reported to faculty and the Honor Court. All tests are securely stored until the exam is administered.
Exams will be scheduled to overlap with the time of the regularly scheduled class exams. Occasionally, due to scheduling conflicts like back-to-back classes, students may take an exam before or after the regularly scheduled class time. When this occurs, students are directed to speak with their faculty and get permission to take the exam at a different time. Please do not hesitate to contact us to confirm an exam time or with any questions or concerns. When scheduling, we base a student’s extended time on the length of the class period. Please let us know if a student should not have the full class time.
Students have the right to choose not to utilize testing accommodations offered at Hamilton College, even if they have been approved for them. Keep in mind, as a student, if you choose not to utilize your testing accommodations, you will not be able to later argue for a regrade or retest based on the lack of accommodation, as you actively chose not to use it.
